Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and a destination that perfectly blends tradition, energy, and modern urban life. The city is famous for its vibrant floating markets, where daily life unfolds along canals filled with boats selling fresh produce and local food. Bangkok is also home to magnificent temples that reflect Thailand’s deep spiritual roots, standing in striking contrast to its luxury shopping malls and modern skyline. Getting around by tuk tuk is an experience in itself, adding colour and excitement to sightseeing. The city offers endless visual delights, from bustling streets and riverside views to ornate architecture and lively neighbourhoods. Famed Thai hospitality is felt everywhere, especially in its diverse dining scene, which ranges from street food to fine dining restaurants. As night falls, Bangkok comes alive with a dynamic nightlife that completes the city’s unforgettable atmosphere.

Hotels & Transfers

Hotels experienced during our stay in Bangkok include:
AETAS Bangkok on Phloen Chit Road, conveniently located in the city centre,
Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, which offers a nice location with easy access to the metro, taxis, and many restaurants within walking distance.

Transfers: For the airport-to-hotel transfer, a fixed-rate transfer was booked directly at the airport on arrival, and the experience was smooth. For hotel-to-airport transfers, several options are easily available, including hotel-arranged transfers and taxis from the hotel entrance. Within the city, tuk-tuks, taxis, metro services, and other local transport options are widely available.

Food & Restaurants

Among the restaurants explored in Bangkok, these two in Sukhumvit were visited most often and became regular dining choices during our trips.

Indus – Indian Restaurant, 71 Sukhumvit, Bangkok.
Khana Khazana – Indian, Vegetarian, 153, Sukhumvit, Bangkok.

A few Thai restaurants were experienced during the trip, and a few dishes matched our preferred food style. One memorable favourite was the Thai green chicken curry, which stood out as a highlight among the local dining experiences.
