Aswan,Egypt

Aswan is a beautiful city in the south of Egypt, located along the banks of the Nile River and known for its calm atmosphere and deep historical importance. The city is home to several significant archaeological sites and ancient temples that highlight Egypt’s rich past and Nubian heritage. One of Aswan’s most famous landmarks is the Aswan High Dam, an engineering marvel that transformed the region and controls the flow of the Nile. The city is also dotted with scenic islands, traditional villages, and peaceful gardens that create a relaxed riverside setting. Local souqs add colour and character, offering spices, handicrafts, and everyday life in motion. With its blend of history, culture, natural beauty, and slow paced charm, Aswan offers a memorable and authentic experience of southern Egypt.

Aswan Souq is a great place to explore local flavours and traditional market finds. Dried hibiscus is available at very good prices, and the souq also offers good-quality peanuts, spices, and other local products.

Many travellers may already be familiar with hummus and Arabic bread, but in Egypt, the tahina and Egyptian bread combination is not to be missed. It is a simple yet memorable taste experience that food lovers will truly appreciate.

The fried fish experienced at the Nubian Village was something different and memorable, adding a unique local flavour to the journey.
