Johannesburg is one of Africa’s most vibrant cities, instantly impressive for its diversity, energy, and wide range of shopping experiences that bring together both local products and international brands. The city offers excellent retail destinations, with places like Sandton City Mall and Nelson Mandela Square standing out for their collection of high-end global labels, stylish dining options, and lively atmosphere. During the trip, I also discovered the Rosebank Rooftop Market, a world-famous flea market known for its authentic African crafts, art, jewellery, and local food, offering a more cultural and creative shopping experience. For this trip, I stayed in Sandton, one of Johannesburg’s most dynamic and high-energy commercial centres, well known for its modern infrastructure, green spaces, quality hotels, and large shopping malls. The area felt organised, safe, and vibrant, making it a convenient base for exploring the city.
